SNOW!

Oh boy! This week it finally snowed! It was the first time I had gone out and actually done something semi-fun. Snow is so beautiful. I love the crunching sound it makes when you walk on it. I even love that it makes me slip and fall on my butt. The mountains look even more beautiful covered in snow. Shelby had fun taking pictures of me being a little kid in the snow. She still loves that I haven't really had the snow experiences.

Brennen is here! He came snowboarding with his sister Nikki so they're here for the whole week! Monday night we went to temple square. It was great. I love sharing peaceful nights like that with him. I can't believe he leaves in nine days.

Finals were this week too. They went really well for the most part. I got really good feedback from my dance teachers which was plus because I was gross with mono when I performed my final. Hopefully I'll end up with all A's! Keep your fingers crossed!

Cracking Down with a Crack Up Body

Man oh man.

Well where to start? Thanksgiving was perfect. I missed my funny sisters and their crazy kids more than I thought. I missed hugging Dad whenever I wanted. I missed Mom's spasticness. I miss Brennen and his beautiful smile. I know Brennen got more time than the rest, but I couldn't help it! It was fantastic spending every minute of every day with him. I love that kid. I can't believe he leaves me so soon.

The Thursday after I came back up here we had a ward activity. We took everybody out to Temple Square in Salt Lake and saw the beautiful lights. We also went and saw the Joseph Smith movie. I think it is amazing how different a spirit you feel watching movies or hearing beautiful music.

I found out Monday this week that I have mono. I'd been feeling crappy for quite a while but refused to go get checked out because I figured it would just go away. Mono has terrible timing. Three of my finals were this week and the rest are this next. The last couple weeks I get to spend with Brennen I have to be sick...I'm a little bitter about it. I was pretty dang miserable for a couple of days because I was waking up with night sweats, fevers, chills, headaches, and dry heaving at 4 in the morning. But yesterday and today have been much better. I've had to take much better care of my body. Its really a lot harder than you'd think...I did complete this huge poster presentation while feeling like death. We also decorated our apartment with Christmas stuff! Out tree was so cleverly designed out of a green plastic table clothe.

I'm so excited that Rachel is coming home. She is such an amazing example of faith to me. Having her so close again will be so much fun. Her testimony still impresses me.

JEALOUS!
I still can't believe that South East Texas has now has more snow that we have. I think that is just absolutely ridiculous. I woke up to pictures of Brennen snowman. What kind of world is it when it snows in Texas and not in Utah? I mean seriously!

CANT WAIT!

Oh my goodness! I can't believe my thanksgiving break is so close! It is very much needed. Things have been a little nuts up here.
"Cosmo the Ladies Man"

This week BYU plays the University of Utah. It the biggest game of the year. Kind of like UT and A&M...A couple years ago some U of U kids came and painted the statues on campus red so this week all of the statues have been wrapped with plastic wrap. This statue had a caption taped on it this morning. "Sealed for time and all eternity."

I have a research paper due for American Heritage tomorrow. That class has really been kicking my tooshie, but my professor is amazing. I love BYU because you can tell that you're learning under the guidance of the spirit. Professor Holland is really an amazing example of a disciple scholar. I respect the way he directs his class. We discuss government but he always find significant ways to incorporate gospel teachings. Its great!

Saturday we have our second ward party! I hope it runs well! It has been so stressful figuring all the catering plans and what not but everything is pretty much finished now!

Spending an entire week with Brennen and seeing family is going to be the BEST break I could ever ask for! I've missed him and everybody else so bad! Yay for babies!

I found these funny videos of me and Taylor "skittles bowling." They're pretty entertaining!

A Snowy Hawaiian Thanksgiving

The first snow was this weeeeeek!!!!! AH it was so beautiful. I ate my breakfast out in it. Utah is such a beautiful place!!

So..if you didn't know, I have the most amazing boy in my life. Brennen helped pay for me to fly home for Thanksgiving. We had talked about it a lot but because of our...unusual circumstances we didn't know if it would end up happening. I got my ticket on Tuesday night and I'm so freakishly excited to get to spend a whole week with him. I've missed him terribly, and Mom and Dad of course!! Love you guys =)I get to come camp for a day or MAYBE more with the rest of the family so that should be great!

Our ward started this get to know you activity at the beginning of the semester. One apartment of guys and one apartment of girls get together for a themed dinner they draw out of a hat at ward prayer. It was our turn this week and I drew out LUAU! The boys attempted to make some Hawaiian chicken but they didn't know that you have to thaw chicken before you cook it (which I didn't know either). We ended up ordering Hawaiian pizza and drinking fruit punch. Real creative huh? We were in charge of decorations and costuming. I love stuff like that so you can imagine how crazy Iwent with the streamers! A lot of Shelby's family is Maori because her mom is from New Zealand, so attempted to teach us a little bit of hula. The boys were terrible.

Saturday was our last home football game and it was super fun because the guys sitting by us were completely NUTS!

I love how every time I'm confused or have no idea what to do, there are these perfect instances when the Lord helps me figure it out. This week I found my true feelings about certain things. Life seems a little more clear.

A bloomin awesome Halloween

Man this week was crazy fun!

My first ward activity as activities co chair was this week and it went great! We had a ward talent show and the room was so packed people were overflowing into the hall! It was lots of fun and some of the kids had really impressive talents! I dressed up as a dude- facial hair and all.

Last night our stake hosted a dance. I helped 3 different people come up with costumes AND helped make them for them. My friend Gavin borrowed my Minnie Mouse outfit. Shelby was "Stupendous Shelby" the super hero, and my friend Sarah rocked my aviators as a eighties rocker. We had a really good time getting super sweaty at the dance. Ryan was a rocker that "rocked a little to hard" and broke his drum sticks. At the stake dance I went to go get a drink and then out of no where this crazy man in a curly wig, short jean shorts, and a mesh tank top came and started dancing around me. I got a little freaked! Then I realized it was my friend Caleb. Then I saw all of his roomates. Those are some crazy guys! Their costumes were a little disturbing...

Our apartment was pretty dang disgusting after everything that went on this week. We finally cleaned it today and it felt SOOOO good. I love cleaning and making things all organized. It relaxes me. I still remember when mom made fun of me because I asked her for a label maker..

Orange Haired Grades

So I got my midterm grades and I didn't do too terribly. My History of Creativity exam was super easy. I got a 93 (highest grade out of all our freshman academy students!) My American Heritage exam was MUUCH more difficult. I ended up with a cumulative 83 which isn't too bad considering, but this class has a wierd curve so I still might end up with a lower grade. Lame right?

Last night I finally got up the courage to let Shelby dye my hair. I've been way to freaked out but my roots were getting a little gross. When we washed it out we found maybe ten places we had missed AND it had an orange tint. But when I woke up this morning it didn't look orange at all- just super bright blonde. It was definatly a memorable experience.

I've been really confused about a lot lately. Just not knowing what exactly the Lord knows is best has kind of killed me lately. I've been getting those weird headaches that aren't headaches, just a lot of pressure in my head because I'm constantly thinking about so much at one time. The other night I was up on Y mountain. I just sat in the parking lot in the cold and looked at the beautiful city lights and mountain sillouhettes off in the distance. I needed that. Being in nature or just in such a quite peaceful place always makes me so much better because I can really listen to the spirit. I love the beautiful world Heavenly Father created for us.

We had a halloween dance tonight and I had to throw a costume together because my sunflower isnt done yet.

I was Minnie!

Homecoming

So..I got a little preoccupied with problems in my last post so I didn't post any pictures from my fun week last week.

Last week was homecoming and there were lots of fun activities going on

True Blue foam football was by far the best

my skin was stained blue for three days. I had to scrub like crazy with baking soda to get it off for the dance.

I went with my friend Taylor and we had a good time. He is on the ballroom team so he just taught me ballroom moves all night long!

It was my friend Kathryn's first EVER date on the night of the dance. So I hooked her up with a dress and Shelby did her makeup and hair and all that cool girly stuff! She looked HOT! haha

ALSO.
I would just like to say how amazingly AMAZING my entire family is. I love you guys 8] thanks for loving your little sister so much.

I feel like puking. Sorry for the graphics.

Yesterday and today was basically the first six months of this year packed into two days. Things are no longer...and I don't have my phone again.

just my best friend, but an amazing one.

Conference Weekend

Man. Last week was nuts!! I had my first test in my dance class and I did really well. It gave me so much more confidence in that class because I have felt SOO behind all the other girls. I got asked out by some random Canadian at an etiquitte dinner in front of everyone. I had test reviews out the wazoo...along with tons of homework. I started studying in the library which has proved to be very productive! Who knew? haha

Friday night I went to see Kung Fu Panda with some friends at the theater in the student center. I forgot how dang funny that movie was. Then I called Todd and he told me he and Kristine dear had extra tickets for the after noon session saturday! I was super stoked. It rained all night Saturday so in the morning for conference there was snow on the mountains. It was just BEAUTIFUL! We drove out to Salt Lake and walked a few blocks to the conference center. It is SO neat inside there! That session was so perfect for me. I have always enjoyed conference but I've never felt like things were said for me. That was ALL I got from that session. Each thing one of the brethren said TOTALLY applied to my life right now. Elder Holland's talk was definately one of my favorites. I have so many angels in my life. I'm so blessed to have so many amazing righteous examples in my life.

During the priesthood session Kristi and I walked around Salt Lake and shopped and such so that was fun. We also saw the Reflections of Christ exhibit by Mark Mabry. The pictures are so powerful..

The Sunday session I was able to attend was...eventful to say the least. I was a little mad at myselt that I let something so dumb distract me from being in the prophet's presence...

This week is going to be pretty dang nuts too. I have my very first ever midterm tomorrow. Then the second on Wednesday. Brennen's birthday is this week and the present I'm sending him I kind of want to keep...Friday I'm going to the Homecoming dance and Saturday I'm going out with the random Canadian dude.

Bom noche

Dumpy Days and Disco Skates

So You Think You Can Dance 2008

Last week sucked. Thats about it. I lost my cell phone and I feel completely hindered without it. I was finally adjusting to life up here and then a few days last week just hit me really hard.

The Lord has really blessed me with an amazing brother and best friend. They really know how to take care of me. Especially when I have bad days like that. Todd was so sweet to come a watch a dance performance with me on Saturday. I know he didnt really want to, but he did anyways. The women's General Relief Society meeting was on Saturday evening. President Uchtdorf's words were so good for me. I have felt so...inadaquate up here and thats just what he talked about. He explained that the only way to over come those feelings is to serve. Then so perfectly...I finally got my calling on Sunday. I'm the ward activities co-chair so I get to plan all the ward parties! Its a perfect job for me because I love to do that kind of stuff and I think I'll really be able to serve. I talk to Brennen all the time about going on a mission. I would love to be able to serve the Lord completely for eighteen months of my life. I just don't know if that will be right for me at that time in my life. I hate not knowing! I just wish I knew what I was going to do!

Saturday night I went disco skating with one of my friends that lives in the building across from me. We had lots of fun, getting dressed up. I even had on GREEN eye shadow! We looked pretty ridiculous, but I think my camera got messed up when it was in his pocket because he kept falling on his butt..

You would miss him too.

I love him. I want to become the person he sees me as.

Busy week...

I feel like SO much happened this week. Monday my FHE group had our first REAL meeting and it was great. My group is awesome. I had alot of work and reading in all of my classes this week as well. I think I look forward more to the weekends being in college then I ever did in high school.

Friday night me and my roomates cleaned our apartment and MAN did it feel so much better! If you don't know..I have this thing about rearranging furniture pretty much every two months. So, I rearranged my bedroom already and it feels so much better!

After that we went to the BYU fall festival. They had video games, bands playing, free pizza, swing dance classes, and a dance all happening at the same time in the Wilkinson center. It was lots of fun! I love dances..maybe because I love dancing so much. But we met some guys from a building in our complex and they invited us to their "Thug Party." So Saturday night we dressed up in our best thug attire-baggy sweats, bandanas, trucker hats, and I had my sweet crown hoody from Todd. The party was sooooooooo much fun! There were two apartments hosting it and on their balcony they had hooked up a swing and a hammock. We danced all night long and got super sweaty...and stinky.

A date...with the engaged. And others

So. I went out on my first date last friday night. My roomate Shelby got asked out by this guy named Scott and he has a twin brother named Brian. So me and Brian got hooked up on a blind double date. We went to DI and picked out goofy outfits for each other and went ice skating in them. Then we crashed some random party with a giant inflatible obstacle course and ate Dairy Queen. It was quite enjoyable.

Then Saturday I got to take engagement pictures of Todd and Kristy! They're are so great together. I'm so excited for her to be part of our AWESOME family! It did make me miss Brennen a bit though. But that seems to happen every day seeing that I'm constantly surrounded my lovey dovey couples on campus every day. Dang mormons!

I slid down stairs too! I've been practicing 8]
